Why A Business Coach Is A Great Investment

Oct 24, 2014

Many businesses are started with a pure desire to do something good, to help people, in a new way, to provide services or products that help people. Often times entrepreneurs have a great vision and now want to put it to the test. But at times this exciting journey can be difficult, challenging and even lonely. A business coach is a great investment, and here is why.

To make sure that your vision becomes reality we need experts around us who make sure that we as individuals, and our business, is reaching its full potential. One of these experts that everyone should have is a business coach.

I have worked with a coach or mentor in one form or another since I was 17 and am currently using a business coach for my own business. Today I wanted to share with you seven reasons why hiring a coach was a good move for me and how it has helped me become more successful.

“Get In There” With You

Sometimes when I work on certain projects I tend to overthink things. And since there is no one else pushing me to a solution, it can take quite a while to get into action. A business coach can “get in there” with you and help you make decisions and give you the extra push to get your butt moving.

Challenge You to Step Outside Your Comfort Zone

The real growth of a business is just outside of the business owner’s comfort zone. We are with our business (and lives) where we are because of the choices and actions we have taken so far. If we are not satisfied and where we want to be, then it’s time to try out something new. Investing in a business coach can see our comfort zone and help us step out of it – for our benefit and the benefit of our business.

The moment we step outside of our comfort zone we tap into a newborn feeling of aliveness and creativity. We are able to look at our business with completely fresh eyes and see new opportunities to improve every aspect of it – our product or service, our processes, our customer service, our marketing, everything… A business coach can help you prioritize all these new ideas and make sure you are moving forward strong, and not getting overwhelmed.

Find Support and Encouragement

Starting and running a business can sometimes be a lonely undertaking. Ultimately you are responsible for the success or failure of the business. It ‘s important that you have someone who believes in you! There will be hard times and a good business coach can help you get through those tough times.
By having a coach who is helping you to solve problems, rather than doing it for you, you will ultimately learn the skills to master any obstacles that may come your way.

Become More Confident

You’ll never truly know what you’re capable of until you have someone who pushes you outside your comfort zone. After working with my own business coach, I’ve been able to build up a lot more confidence in my own ideas, thought process and even the way I approach my business.

If you’re like me, you know you have greatness within you but you aren’t always sure if it’s a good idea, or something that will get you rejected. It’s hard to convince yourself that you have the ability to accomplish your business goals, and that’s where having a coach is key.

Actually Reach Your Goals

As business owners we all have a vision, we have goals, things that we’d like to accomplish. It’s not difficult to come up with those. The questions is, will we reach them?

With a business coach you can! One of the main job of coaches is to strip all the excuses away that are holding our clients back. A good coach will never stop pushing you, because they see your true potential. A coach challenges you to try new things, and will also strongly encourage you to think bigger, jump higher and really go for what you want.

A business coach investment will help you set audacious goals. Audacious goals are the goals that scare us to death, but an experienced coach knows they are closer within reach than we realize. Then once we reach those crazy goals we feel invincible and our confidence goes through the roof!

Help Balance Your Life

As business owners we know it’s easy to put our customers, clients and even our family ahead of our own needs. This is especially true for solopreneurs who single-handedly keep the business going.
A certain degree of balance is important for our well-being and a business coach will help you set up systems within your business that makes sure your will get some of your well deserved time back.

Be Accountable to Someone

What did you accomplish this week? Are you making progress on your goals? These are standard questions at the beginning of each coaching session that will get you sweating if you haven’t put in the work.

A coach is a built-in accountability partner that nudges and reminds you of what you promised to do, and what you’re working towards. It’s all too easy to make promises to ourselves and then break them because we don’t feel like it, or it’s too hard.

When you’re accountable to someone else, you don’t have that luxury. If you really want to accomplish your big goals and take your business to the next level, hiring a business coach is the right step.

A Business Coach is a Great Investment for Your Business

As I said in the beginning, running a business alone is very difficult, almost impossible. You need to have a strong team of supporters around you and in my experience a coach is a must.

Hiring a life and business coach has single-handedly taken my business to the next level. And without that much-needed support, I would probably still be stuck at my day job, hating my life.
